Item. Year as above, 3rd Kalends of June. The sworn witness Guilhem de Gozens said that he stayed with Dulcia, wife of Pons de Gozens, his uncle, and her companions, heretics, for 5 years, and he ate, drank and slept with the aforesaid heretics. He saw with them Peire de Gozens, son of the aforesaid Dulcia, and Pons de Gozens husband of the aforesaid heretic, and Pons Barta, servientus of the aforesaid Pons, and Amada, wife of Peire de Gozens who is the son of the aforesaid heretic. The witness adored the aforesaid heretics many times and saw others adore. This was about 20 years ago. The aforesaid was confessed to brother Guilhem Arnald at Castelnaudary.

Item. He said that after the above confession was made, he saw W. Faure and his companion, heretics, in the house of Peire Faure at Saint-Martin-Lalande, and he saw there Peire himself and Bernarda, wife of said Peire Faure. The witness himself adored them bending at the knee three times, saying, "Bless us". This was about 5 years ago.

Item. He saw two heretics whom he did not know in the house of Guilhem Arnald at Saint-Martin-Lalande, and he saw with them the wife of Guilhem Arnald. But he did not adore nor saw adoring. This was the same period.

Item. He saw Guilhelma, wife of Raimund Fabri, and her companions, heretics, in the house of Raimund Joglar, and he saw there Raimund, son of said Raimund Joglar, and Raimunda, daughter of said Raimund, and Raimund himself. The witness adored the aforesaid heretics, bending three times at the knee saying, "Bless us, good women, pray to God for us." But he did not see the others adore. This was the same period.

Item. He saw two heretics whom he did know in the house of Raimund de Saint-Nazare, and he saw there Raimund himself, and Peire Folcs, and Mossa and Aycelina, the household servant. The witness and the aforesaid Folcs adored the said heretics there, but he did not see the others adore. This was the same period.

He believed the heretics to be good men, to have good faith, and to be friends of God, even though he knew that the Church persecuted them. He heard them say that God did not make visible things and that the holy host is not the body of Christ. He did not hear them speak of baptism, of matrimony, nor of the resurrection of the body. The witness believed the same errors as the heretics said. The foregoing was confessed to brother Ferrier at Limoux but he was not given penance. It was 20 years ago that he first believed the heretics to be good men, but he ceased believing that after making confession to brother Ferrier. He recognized that he had done wicked things as after abjured heresy and swore to persecute heretics, he saw, hid, believed, and adored heretics. He abjured heresy and swore, etc. Witnesses: Arnald, prior of Saint-Sernin; Arnald Cerda; and brother Bernard, inquisitor; and B. of Petrabufera, cleric.

He said as well that when the men of Saint-Martin-Lalande had to go and confess to brother Wilhelm Arnald, inquisitor at Castelnaudary, they made an agreement along the way that they would not tell the inquisitor the truth but witness and Martin de Gozens, uncle of the witness, were unwilling [to lie]. Witnesses: as above.
