Year and day as stated before. The sworn witness Alamanda, wife of Peire Sernin, said that she saw by chance in the house of Companh Gaufred at Mas-Saintes-Puelles two women she did not know standing before the bed of Esmengard Gaufred who was gravely ill there. When the witness entered the house, the aforesaid women - whom the witness believed were heretics - withdrew from there and hid themselves in the house. And the aforesaid Companh Gaufred and Arnald Amelh, the illegitimate son of Galhard Amelh, were there. This was about 18 years ago.

She has not otherwise seen heretics except prisoners, nor believed, nor adored, nor gave or sent [them anything], nor led, nor listened to their preaching. She confessed to brother Ferrier. She abjured heresy and swore, etc. Witnesses: as stated before as well as brother Guilhem Pelhisson
